Low pressure forms over Bay

CHENNAI,
NOV. 12.
Cuddalore district continued to receive heavy rainfall on Thursday and Friday morning, even as a trough of low pressure formed over the southwest bay.
Parangipettai and Chidambaram, both in Cuddalore district, recorded 25 and 23 cm during the 24 hours ended at 8-30 a.m. on Friday.
Many places of the State also recorded rainfall.
According to the meteorological office, most places in coastal districts would experience rain, while there would be precipitation in interior parts too.
Storage in Chennai
The storage in the reservoirs in Chennai witnessed a slight increase following moderate inflows.
This morning, the reservoirs at Poondi and Chembarambakkam recorded a rainfall of 10 and 2 mm. respectively.
Red Hills received an inflow of 90 cubic feet a second, resulting in a storage of 713 million cubic feet of water.
The combined storage of the reservoirs was 967 mcft, against the total capacity of 7,412 mcft.
