THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, NOV. 12. The Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy, has called for concerted action by all sections of society against poverty, hunger and economic inequalities in the State. He was delivering the inaugural address at a public meeting organised here today in connection with the 68th anniversary of the Temple Entry Proclamation. "We have no time to waste. We need a solution to poverty and hunger. For, those who are hungry are worried about their evening meal today," Mr. Chandy said. The Minister for Culture, A. P. Anil Kumar, presided over the meeting. The Ambedkar and Ayyankali awards for best social service were given away at the function. The Ambedkar award for the best journalist went to P. K. Prakash, reporter of Madhyamam daily.
