BANGALORE, NOV. 12. The holiday mood was evident in government and even political circles here today. The much-talked-about meeting between the Congress and the Janata Dal (Secular) leaders on expanding the Ministry did not take place on Thursday and today also. The Chief Minister, N. Dharam Singh, who hosted an Iftar party at the Banquet Hall of the Vidhana Soudha on Thursday evening, said the talks would be held only after Ramzan (November 15). After that, he would leave for New Delhi for talks with leaders of the All-India Congress Committee on inclusion of Congress legislators in the Ministry. A good percentage of State Government employees were on leave today and had left the city. Thursday was a government holiday on account of Naraka Chaturdashi, and tomorrow happens to be second Saturday as also Bali Padyami. It will be followed by Sunday and Monday (Ramzan). It will thus be a godsend of four holidays in five days.
