Persist with Ganguly: Akram

BANGALORE, NOV. 14. Former Pakistan captain and all-rounder Wasim Akram reiterated that Sourav Ganguly should be persisted with as skipper of the Indian team despite recent criticism from former players.

"Ganguly is 32 or 33 or even younger. Just give him sometime, give him confidence. I think the team can come back. My advice is, leave the team alone and they will get back into the groove," Akram told reporters here on Sunday during the course of a run to mark `World Diabetes Day'.

Akram also tipped India as favourite against South Africa in the forthcoming two Test series. — Our Sports Reporter
