By Our Staff Correspondent

DAVANGERE NOV. 14. Siddeshwar, Davangere MP, has urged villagers to be alert and check whether public works undertaken in their villages had good quality material. Inaugurating the construction of additional classrooms at the STJ Government Pre-university College and an auditorium at Hirekogalur in Chennagiri taluk here today, Mr. Siddeshwar said that he had heard that sub-standard works were being carried out in the district.

He asked the people to register complaints with higher authorities if they found that any department was not maintaining the recommended standards.

The MP lauded the people who had taken up development work on their own and said that villagers should try to improve infrastructure in their villages by mobilising locally available manpower.

Mahima Patel, MLA, spoke. Anaberu Parvathamma, former president of the Davangere Zilla Panchayat, and R. Suvarnamma, former vice-president of the zilla panchayat participated.
