Police search Jan Kalyan district chief's house

KANCHEEPURAM,
NOV. 14.
A police team investigating the Sankararaman murder case today conducted a search at the residence of Jan Kalyan district president, M. Pasupathi.
Mr.Pasupathi, an ardent follower of the senior Acharya, was not in the house when the team arrived.
Enquiries with the staff at the bookshop run by Mr. Pasupathi revealed that he had gone to Vellore.
Since morning there was a rumour in the town that the police was would conduct a search at Sankara Mutt.
The mutt manager, Sundaresa Iyer, in a press release, said daily pujas and other rituals were being conducted at the Mahaperiyawal Adhistanam.
Devotees were being allowed to offer prayers at the Adhistanam. Pujas for Sri Chandramouleeshwarar were also being conducted, he said.
