Voters' list

Sir, — There are five main roads at Matadahalli, Bangalore-32 (ward no. 97).

But in the voters' list of the Jayamahal constituency, there is no 5th Main Road. The names of some of the residents of the area are found against 4th Main Road. I request the electoral authorities to include 5th Main Road in the electoral rolls.

Stamps required

Sir, — For payments exceeding Rs. 500, revenue stamps have to be affixed on the receipts.

However, the post offices in the State are not selling them.

The Government is losing revenue because of this, and the people are put to inconvenience as the Government and many institutions insist on affixing revenue stamps on receipts.

Shift post office

Sir, — The Vyalikaval sub post office, though a busy one, is located in a small building. ]

With the building being renovated now, even power supply has been cut.

It is time the postal authorities selected a bigger premises for the post office considering the needs of the residents, most of whom are senior citizens.

Close pits

Sir, — In Jalavayu Vihar, an ex-servicemen's colony, pits have been dup up in the park and behind the flats.

Electric cables have thus been exposed, and the pits have become breeding grounds for mosquitoes and reptiles.

This may lead to the outbreak of malaria and other diseases. The authorities concerned should take steps to close the pits immediately.

Buses needed

Sir, — There is no bus service between Domlur and Banashankari 2nd Stage during the peak hour of 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Office-goers, especially those working in Koramangala and BTM Layout, and schoolchildren are the worst affected by this. There is also the problem of pick-pocketing on the route.

At 10 a.m., a bus is run on the route, and this is always overcrowded. The authorities concerned should take steps to run buses during the peak hour on the route.

O. Prabhakaran,

Bangalore.
