MYSORE, NOV. 16. The Mysore district Sankara Sandesha Saptaha Sanchalana Samithi and Vedanta Bharathi have organised a series of lectures on the teachings of Adi Sankaracharya. The series, which started on Tuesday, will go on till November 22 and is being held throughout the State simultaneously. The objective of the programme is to disseminate the teachings of the Adi Sankaracharya whose commentaries on the Upanishads and the Bhagavad Gita and the treatise on Brahmasutras are relevant even today. The lecture series will be held in 17 centres in Mysore and at Sri Rama Mandira in T. Narsipura, Chilkundu, and Nanjangud from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. The centres in Mysore are Sri Prasanna Mahaganapathi Temple, N.R. Mohalla; Sri Abhinava Shankaralaya, Khille Mohalla; Sri Lakshminarasimha Temple, Vivekanandanagar; Sri Shankaranarayanaswamy Temple, Chamundipuram; Shivananda Jnanalaya, Divine Life Society, J.L.B. Road; Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Jayalakshmipuram; Srirama Mandira, J.P. Nagar; Sri Bilishile Ramamandira, Ramavilas Road; Sri Ramalingeshwara Temple, Vidyaranyapuram; Srirama temple, Krishnamurthypuram; Sri Chandramouleshwara temple, Vontikoppal; Ganapathi temple, Ramakrishnanagar; Srirama temple, Jayanagar; Sri Rama Abyudaya Sangha, Shivarampete; and Sri Sai Saraswathi Vidya Kendra, Bogadi. The valedictory function of the lecture series will be held in Mysore on November 22 at Jaganmohan Palace. The State-level valedictory function will be held in Sringeri on November 27 and November 28.
