KANNUR, NOV. 16. The North Malabar Chamber of Commerce (NMCC) has welcomed the State Government's decision to provide one-time assistance to sick public sector units that have the potential to sustain their achievements. The Chamber president, C. Jayachandran, and the secretary, Maheshchandra Baliga, urged in a letter to the Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy, that the Government should also consider large number of ailing private enterprises that were struggling to find adequate resources to modernise their plant and machinery.
