Rodrigues sworn in Punjab Governor
CHANDIGARH,
NOV. 16.
Former Army Chief, S. F. Rodrigues, was sworn in Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh Union Territory here today.He succeeds Justice (retd.) O. P. Verma.
The Punjab and Haryana High Court Chief Justice, B. K. Roy, administered the oath of office to Gen.(retd) Rodrigues at the Punjab Raj Bhavan here.
The Chief Secretary, Jai Singh Gill, read out the warrant of appointment of Gen. Rodrigues, issued by the President. Among those present were the Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Kewal Krishan, the Chief Minister, Amarinder Singh, his Cabinet colleagues, the Deputy Chief Minister, Rajinder Kaur Bhattal.
