Perur FC holds Kumaran MSP

COIMBATORE, NOV. 16. Perur Football Club put up a valiant show to hold a strong A.P. Kumaran Memorial Sports Club to a 2-2 draw in the Coimbatore District Football Association `C' division league at the Nehru Stadium here on Tuesday.

N. Karthick opened the account for A.P. Kumaran with a stinging sixth minute effort in the first half. Eighteen minutes later A. Zameer Ahamed came out with an equaliser for Perur.

In the 36th minute of the second half, A.P. Kumaran went one-up again through a pleasing push from Suresh. Just when it looked good as over for Perur boys, Shaik Anetulla surprised the A.P. Kumaran defence with a smart move in the 54th minute that caught the custodian on the wrong foot.

In another match, Doraiswamy Memorial Football Club scored a handsome 5-1 win over KRV Memorial Football Club. Ganesh Viji (11th), Vengatesh (54th), Abuthdir (56th & 59th) and S. Raman (57th) scored for the winning team, while Dhanapal struck the lone goal in the 10th minute of the first half for KRV.

The results:

A.P.Kumaran MSC 2 (N. Karthick 1, Suresh 1) drew with Perur Football Club 2 (A. Zameer Ahamed 1, Shaik Anetulla 1). Doraiswamy MFC 5 (Ganesh Viji 1, Vengatesh 1, Abuthdir 2, S. Raman 1) bt KRV MFC 1 (Dhanapal 1).
