Speaking at a meeting organised on the occasion of the National Press Day here today by the district unit of AP Union of Working Journalists, he observed that media was obsessed more with the Government than anything else in society.

The Head of the Department of Political Science in Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Purushottam, complimented journalists for extracting vital information. The former MP of Anantapur and a journalist himself, K. Srinivasulu, said before taking the plunge into politics, he supported the Government's obsession of media as it was the Government, which would affect the people's life more than anybody else.

At another function organised by the Rotary Club, the Superintendent of Police, R.S. Praveen Kumar, said control of crime would become easy if the media cooperated with them.

Both the meetings were presided over by the district president of APUWJ, P. Ramachandra Reddy.
