VISAKHAPATNAM, NOV. 16. The Visakhapatnam Region of the APSRTC will launch a new luxury bus service from Dwaraka bus station in the city to Simhachalam hill from Wednesday. The Municipal Commissioner, K. Srikant, will flag off the bus at Simhachalam hill at 9 a.m. The bus fare from Dwaraka bus stop to the hill is Rs.20 per head, excluding the devasthanam fare of Rs.3.
First service
It is the first bus service to take the commuters directly to the hill. The bus will have all the comforts of Garuda service excluding air-condition. Named `Veera,' the bus will have stops at Gopalapatnam, NAD junction, Marripalem and railway station among others. It has special features like ergonomically fitted seats for a shock-absorbing, tinted glasses and tilted window glasses for better view of the landscape. Depending on the demand, the frequency of the bus in the route No. 6-A/H would be increased, the APSRTC Regional Manager, D. Satyanarayana, said. In the first lot, they had received four Veera buses, of which two would transport commuters to Kailasagiri hills.
