NOV. 16.
Pithapur Rajah's Government (A) College, Kakinada emerged winner of the Andhra University inter-college hockey tournament here on Tuesday.
G. Gayatri Kalyan scored a hat-trick (42nd, 45th and 59th minutes) after A. Ganesh Kumar helped himself to a brace (23rd and 29th) as PRGC swamped SGA Govt. College, Yelamanchili 5-0 in its last league match.
PRGC, which held both last year's winner and runner-up spots, P.V.R. Trust Degree College, Kakinada and Dr.L.B. College, in the earlier matches, topped the league table with five points.
Dr. L.B. College, defeated PVR Trust Degree College 2-0 to retain the second spot with three points. A. Appa Rao (16th) and I. Srikanth (36th) were the scorers.
PVRT Degree College finished third with two points while SAG College failed to score a point.
