ADILABAD, NOV. 16. The State Government has introduced a new system for giving licences to private qualified persons for conducting private land sub-division work (land survey) under the AP Licensed Surveyors (Licence and Regulation) Rules, 2003. The new system envisages grant of licence by the State Government to qualified persons upon proper training for a period of three years and renewals for similar periodicity.
Scrutiny of work
According to the relevant GO, the licensed surveyors will be able to conduct revenue (cadastral) surveys on receiving the given fee from a prospective private landowner. The survey work by such a licencee will be scrutinised by a Divisional Deputy Inspector of Survey within a period of 15 days.
Qualifications
The eligibility conditions for applying for training as licensed surveyors is SSC and NCVT certificate in draughtsman (Civil) trade among others. The applicant should have completed 18 years. Based on the qualifications trainees will be given training for a six-week or four-week schedule. The fee for the former was Rs. 6,000 and the latter Rs.4,000. The licence fee payable to the Government by a licence holder for the three-year period is Rs. 5,000. The charges to be collected by a licensed surveyor from those seeking lands to be surveyed is a minimum of Rs. 250 to a maximum of Rs. 600 in rural areas and Rs. 1,000 and Rs. 1,200 in Municipal Corporations.
