HYDERABAD, NOV. 16. A Division Bench of the Andhra Pradesh High Court, comprising Chief Justice Devinder Gupta and Justice, C.V. Ramulu, on Tuesday set aside the order of the Government which allotted 100 sq. yards of open space, park area to a church in Yellareddyguda. The Bench was dealing with a writ petition filed by Valmiki Youth Association and others. The petitioners complained to the court that the land allotted to the church is part of layout of the colony and the municipal corporation did not have any right to alienate the same for religious denomination. It was brought to the notice of the court that open space was earmarked for a park and fenced by the municipal corporation. The Bench did not appreciate the act of the Government in seeking to allot open space given by the housing societies to be used for community purposes of that area and set aside the order of the Government.
