BANGALORE, NOV. 16. B.C. Gowrishankar, noted cinematographer and film director, died in a private hospital here on Tuesday night. He was 52.

Mr. Gowrishankar shot to fame in the early 1980s for his "unorthodox" style as a cinematographer. He worked with many reputed directors and artistes from both Karnataka and other States. He directed three Kannada films — Kendada Male, Yelu Suttina Kote and Aata Bombata. He won many awards. Kanchanaganga, starring Shivarajkumar, which is to be released, was his 99th film.
