BANGALORE, NOV. 16. A woman was robbed of gold ornaments at her house on Chamarajpet 4th Main in the early hours of Tuesday. The woman, Madhumathi, was alone at home when the incident occurred. Her husband, Prasad Rao, an auditor, had gone to Lalbagh for a walk. When Madhumathi woke up and went to switch on a water pump, she was threatened with a knife and robbed of the ornaments she was wearing, Mr. Rao said in a complaint to the Chamarajpet police. The robber also took jewellery from an almirah. The couple's two children were asleep during the incident, according to the police.
Chain snatching
A 72-year-old woman was robbed of her gold chain worth Rs. 12,000 in Banashankari 2nd stage on Monday night. The woman, Gauramma, was returning home from the Venkataramanaswamy Temple around 8.30 p.m. when a person snatched her chain. The Banashankari police are investigating.
Woman dies in accident
Belliamma (75), who was knocked down by a motorcyclist at Devasandra on BEL Road on Monday, died at M.S. Ramaiah Hospital, the police said.
