Chennai wins overall championship

CHENNAI, NOV. 17. Chennai won the overall championship trophy in the Tamil Nadu State roller skating championship held here recently. Coimbatore was placed runner-up.

The championship was conducted for children in the age group of 6 to 16 years and around 130 participants took part from various districts — Chennai, Madurai, Tiruchi and Coimbatore.

The Deputy Mayor of Chennai Corporation, Karate R. Thiagarajan, was the chief guest and gave away the prizes.

Individual championship winners:

Quad Races: Boys/ Girls: below 6 yrs: A. Tejeshwar / Priyanka; 6-8 yrs: Rangees / R. Lavanya; 8-10 yrs: R. Hariharan / A. Aarthy; 10-12 yrs: M. Deepak / V. Parnitha; 12-14 yrs: T.P. Charles / Srishty; 14-16 yrs: Ashfaq Syed / Amritha Jetha; above 16 yrs: V.S. Vigneshwar / Mehboob Shamim. Inline Races; 8-10 yrs: M. Naveen / Rebecca Grace; 10-12 yrs: B. Sanchit / A. Anupriya; 12-14 yrs: D. Naveen ; 14-16 yrs: S. Charles Isaac / B. Aswini; above 16 yrs: Aaron Jayant
