Gear up for Plus Two

By Our Special Correspondent

CHENNAI, NOV. 17. Chennai-based Aspire learning company has come up with a scheme — "Toppers' League" that targets higher secondary schools and aims at perfecting the skills of science students for taking the March 2005 Standard XII (Plus Two) Board examinations.

It is to be offered freeto the selected nominees.

A "flawless final sprint was the secret behind winning in a highly competitive test — be it in sport or in a school final examination," an Aspire release said.

The intensive 120-hour programme (spread over two and a half months) will help the schools to increase the number of centum scorers in Mathematics and Science subjects in the 2005 Plus-Two examinations. It would help provide the students with crucial inputs for avoiding small mistakes; writing clear points to fetch full marks; and understanding the marking scheme in the Plus-Two examination.

To enlist in the scheme, schools can nominate up to four toppers from their Class 12 Science Group. The nominations must reach Aspire by 3 p.m. on November 20 (Saturday). The nominees will take an objective-type screening test on November 23 (Tuesday — 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.).

From November 27, the top 70 will go through the topper league programme delivered by expert academics who have been paper-setters and evaluators for such examinations. Schools can contact 98403-47477 or 28342296,28341086 for details.
