Visual media awards announced

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, NOV. 17. The programme, `Kannadi', presented by T.N. Gopakumar for Asianet channel, has bagged the Lovers of Indian Visual Entertainment (LIVE) award for the best current affairs programme. The winners of the award for the first year were announced here on Tuesday by a jury headed by the writer George Onakkoor.

Asianet bagged two more awards in the news and current affairs category. V.M. Deepa won the award for the best reporter and Alakananda was adjudged the best news presenter.

`Symphony', a musical programme presented by V. Krishnakumar for the Kairali channel, was adjudged the best in this category.

The best interview was by Sunnykutty Abraham, for Indiavision. `Haritha Keralam', the farm programme of Jeevan TV, was rated the best in its category. The winners of the special awards are Rema Tharakan, English news presenter with Jeevan TV, Surya channel, for its literary programme, and Indiavision for its live coverage of news and views.
