HYDERABAD, NOV. 18. The U.S. based iMedX, which is into healthcare services solutions, plans to ramp up its back office operations in India, taking the head count from 50 to 150 in the next 12 months, between Pune and Hyderabad. In the process it will be investing $2 million in these two centres according to Venkat Sharma, Chief Executive Officer. Speaking to The Hindu here on Thursday, he said the uniqueness of their model was that they provide their own software also known as iMedX, which offers applications such as medical transcriptions and records. Their product also has capability to support medical billing, coding and practice management. Mr. Sharma said he was here to help set up a franchisee network in Chennai, Bangalore, Nagpur, Delhi and Hyderabad. The overall investment in India would be around $4 million in 12-15 months, including the franchisee network, he said. Mr. Sharma said he promoted at least four companies, nurtured and sold them once they stabilised.
