VHP to organise human chain agitation tomorrow

CHENNAI,
NOV. 18.
The Vishwa Hindu Parishad will organise a Statewide "human chain" agitation on Saturday evening to demand the immediate release of the Kanchi Acharya, Sri Jayendra Saraswathi, and condemn the Government's action.
Calling upon devotees of the Kanchi Mutt, women, traders, farmers, students and other sections to participate in the agitation, the VHP said the protest programme should be conducted peacefully.
The organisation also requested for performing special prayers on Sunday evening at all the temples in the State. It urged the people to recite "Kanda Sashti Kavacham," "Vishnu Sahasranamam," "Thirupugazh" and "Hanuman Chalisa," said a statement issued by S. Vedantam, national vice-president of the VHP, H. Raja, Bharatiya Janata Party's State general secretary, Rama Gopalan, founder of Hindu Munnani and Durai Shankar, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh's Chennai city president.
