It urged the people to recite "Kanda Sashti Kavacham," "Vishnu Sahasranamam," "Thirupugazh" and "Hanuman Chalisa," said a statement issued by S. Vedantam, national vice-president of the VHP, H. Raja, Bharatiya Janata Party's State general secretary, Rama Gopalan, founder of Hindu Munnani and Durai Shankar, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh's Chennai city president.
