Waltair, the maximum temperature was 30.5 degree Celsius and the minimum was 19.8 degree Celsius respectively on Thursday. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 68 per cent and at 5.30 p.m. was 58 per cent.

At Airport, the maximum and minimum temperatures were 32.4 degree Celsius and 17.4 degree Celsius respectively. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 72 per cent and at 5.30 p.m. was 51 per cent.

The maximum and minimum temperatures at the Dolphin's Nose were 30.2 degree Celsius and 20.0 degree Celsius respectively. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 65 per cent.

Management

programme

A two-week management development programme on `Starting and managing small-scale industry' of the Ambedkar Institute of Management Studies (AIMS) began on Thursday.

Inaugurating the programme formally, the Development Commissioner of the Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone (VSEZ), P. Ramesh Kumar, emphasised the need for the students to become entrepreneurs in innovative and diversified areas of business.

Newsletter launched

The local centre of the Indian Institute of Architects launched its newsletter, `Expressions', on Wednesday. The City Planner of Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (VMC), K. Anand Babu, formally released the newsletter.

Library Week

A discussion on the `existence of libraries in the electronic age' was held at the Government Regional Library as part of the Library Week celebrations on Wednesday.

Video screening

A video screening of the highlights of the World Tourism Marketing convention held in London from November 8 to 11, in which the Tourism Minister, J. Geetha Reddy, and the Visakha-II MLA, S. Rangaraju, had participated will be made at the VUDA Children's Theatre from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday.

NSS youth festival

A zonal NSS youth festival was organised at V.S. Krishna Government Degree College on Thursday. The Principal, M. Karuna, and the district NSS Programme Officer, V. Narasimha Murthy, addressed students.
