TN teams excel

CHENNAI, NOV. 19. Eight men's teams, including four pairs from Tamil Nadu, cashed in on good conditions, like gentle winds and smooth sand, to move into the quarterfinal league phase of the eighth KESPA-FCI National beach volleyball championship at Elliots beach here on Friday.

With the qualifiers clashing with the eight pairs that have been seeded into the quarterfinals, the pace and interest is bound to pick up further on Saturday.

In the women's section, Andhra, Tamil Nadu and Goa put up a good show.

The qualifiers: State Bank 2 (Saravanan-Sanjeevi) from Group A, Tamil Nadu 2 (Jaidev-Suresh) from Group B, Tamil Nadu 5 (Sivaraj-Toufi) from Group C, Port (Ranjith-Livingston) from Group D, Tamil Nadu 6 (Edwin-Umarajan) from Group E, Andhra 1 (Ravikanth-Kiran) from Group F, Customs 3 (Yousaf-Jenish) from Group G and Tamil Nadu 3 (Saravanan-Suresh) from Group H.
