Total literacy top priority: Minister
CUDDAPAH,
NOV. 19.
Achieving cent per cent literacy in the State on the lines of Kerala is the Government's goal, according to the Minister for Technical Education, N. Narasimha Reddy.
Speaking after launching the Akshara Bharathi adult literacy programme at Chennur on Friday, he said the rural folk must become literate, particularly Scheduled Castes, for their own betterment and that of society.
Earlier, the Minister launched the `Mee Chanthaku Revenue Saakha' (Revenue Department at your doorstep) programme by flagging off a vehicle at the MRO's office at Cuddapah.
Mr. Narasimha Reddy said the panchayat secretary set-up posed certain problems and delay and hence the new programme was launched.
