MTYS to organise two-wheeler rally

PATHANAMTHITTA, NOV. 19. The Mar Thoma Yuvajana Sakhyam (MTYS) will organise a three-day rally of two-wheelers, Sneha Sandesha Yatra, from November 26 to 28 as part of its public awareness campaign on AIDS, environmental pollution and drug addiction.

The MTYS general secretary, Fr. Shaji Thomas, was addressing a press conference here today.

He said that that Dr. Joseph Mar Ireneus Saffragan Metropolitan of the Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church would launch the campaign at a function to be held at the Gandhi Square in Adoor on November 26 morning.

Fr. Thomas said that the campaign was aimed at creating public awareness on waste disposal, AIDS, the ill effects of drug addiction, alcoholism, drug addiction and exploitation of natural resources.

The rally would cover Pathanapuram, Konni, Kumbazha, Vadasserikkara, Ranni, Ayroor, Kozhencherry, Pullad, Vennikulam, Kizhvaipur, Mallappally, Thiruvalla, Edathua, Haripad, Mavelikkara, Venmony, Kulanada and Chengannur to reach Kallisserry on November 18 afternoon.
