VIJAYAWADA, NOV.19. The three-day XIII Montfort Literary & Cultural Festival "Mont Quest, 2004" commenced at the city's NSM Public School, Patamata on Friday. About 800 students belonging to 24 educational institutions from Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Goa besides Andhra Pradesh are participating in the festival which was inaugurated by the Deputy Transport Commissioner, S.A.V. Prasada Rao. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rao, exhorted the students to upgrade their knowledge to meet the challenges in the competitive world. He wanted the students to concentrate on their extra-curricular activities too for all-round development. The convenor of the Education Commission & Acting Provincial Province of Central India, Franky Noronha,, hoped that the festival would help tap the cultural and literary talent of the students. The principal of the school, John Kallarackal and other faculty members were present on the occasion.
Contests
Competitions in solo singing, group singings, solo dance, fancy dress, drawing, painting, mimicry, mono action, instrumental music, Rangoli, elocution, debate, recitation, quiz and narration would be held during the festival. The valedictory function would be held on Sunday from 5 pm.
