Environment lecture series

CHENNAI,
NOV. 20.
In a bid to increase awareness about environmental issues and to identify strategies for sustainable conservation, a lecture series was organised by Coca-Cola India and the SEARCH Foundation.
Inaugurated today by Robert Swan, environmentalist and special envoy to the director of United National Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation, the lecture focussed on `Water Conservation and Augmentation Using Rain Water Harvesting.'
The need to initiate action for water conservation and sensitise people across the country to the environment was stressed by the speakers, who included M. Mehta, commissioner, Ground Water Ministry of Water Resources and Salim Roomani, member secretary, Central Ground Water Board.
