Appoint own nominee, teachers tell Government
By Our Staff Reporter
NAGERCOIL,
NOV. 20.
The Madurai Kamaraj-Manonmaniam Sundaranar University Teacher's Association - Zone IV, has urged the Government to appoint its nominee in the search committee that has been constituted to select the vice-chancellor of M. S. University.
Speaking to The Hindu , the secretary of the association, T. Manohara Justus, said the Government used to appoint three persons in the search committee for the selection of the vice-chancellor. It has already appointed A. James Williams and the former CBI Director, Narasimman. But it has yet to appoint its own nominee in the committee, Mr. Justus said. The association has urged the Government to appoint its nominee at the earliest in order to facilitate the selection of the new vice-chancellor before the present Vice-Chancellor retires on December 18 this year.
