St. John's wins

ANGAMALY, NOV. 20. St. John's HSS, Thiruvananthapuram, defeated St. Mary's HSS, Champakulam, 45-36 in the opening boys league match of the third Viswajyothi all-Kerala inter-school basketball tournament here on Saturday.

In another match, St. Joseph's HSS, Alappuzha defeated the host Viswajyothi CMI Public School 37-19 in the girls section.

The results: Boys: St. John's HSS 45 (Sam David 14, J.S. Rajeev 14) bt St. Mary's HSS 36. Girls: St. Joseph's HSS 37 (Soniya Joy 10) bt Viswajyothi 19 (Nidhi Venugopal 10).
