MANGALORE, NOV. 20. Police have identified the victims of a road accident that took place at Panambur near here on Thursday. As already reported, one person was killed and four others were injured when a car by which they were travelling crashed into a circle in front of New Mangalore Port Trust Hospital at Panambur resulting in the death of Ramakrishna Rao (60) of Alape, Padil. Mr. Rao, owner of the car, was said to be at the wheels. Those injured, according to the police, are Suma, Mr. Rao's wife, Indira, Vidya, and Sanjeeva Rao, Mr. Rao's brother. The accident occurred when the family was returning to Mangalore from Udupi after attending a marriage. Panambur police have registered a case.
Theft in school
Burglars broke into Sacred Heart School at Kallige-Thodambila in Bantwal Town Police Station limits in the early hours of Friday and took away a LPG cylinder, 50 kg of rice, pulses and other utensils stored for the Akshara Dasoha scheme. The loss has been estimated at Rs. 2,000.
Man ends life
A man aged about 35 allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison near the main gate of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala on Friday. The Belthangady police are investigating.
