Reliance to invest Rs. 10,757 cr. in gas field

NEW DELHI, NOV. 21. Reliance Industries will invest Rs. 10,757 crores to develop its gas field in the Bay of Bengal, producing 40 million standard cubic metres of natural gas a day from August 2007.

``The total capital cost estimates for development of Dhirubhai-1 and Dhirubhai-3 gas fields are estimated at approximately $2390.4 million [about Rs. 10,757 crores],'' states the company's development plan for the Krishna Godavari gas field.

According to the development plan, Reliance will produce 40 million standard cubic metres a day for 7.5 years from discoveries Dhirubhai 1 and 3 from a total of 34 development wells.

First gas will land in August 2007 at a gas processing facility near Kakinada through a 35-km, 24-inch diameter pipeline.
