PATHANAMTHITTA, NOV. 21. The Government is planning to set up a food research institute in cooperation with the Centre, the Food and Civil Supplies Minister, Adoor Prakash, has said. He was addressing a function organised by the Mylapra Service Cooperative Bank near here today, as part of the launch of a product of its wheat floor mills today. Mr. Prakash said that the Government had submitted to the Centre a detailed project report of the proposed Food Research Institute, estimated at Rs.96 crores, According to him, the proposed institute has got much scope in a consumer State like Kerala. The lone Food Research Institute in the whole of South India is located in Mysore, he added. The Minister said that baseless allegations levelled against the Civil Supplies Corporation had been masterminded by its own employees.
