THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, NOV. 21. Bollampally Subhashan Reddy, who was transferred from the Madras High Court last week, was sworn in Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court here on Sunday. The Governor, R.L. Bhatia, administered the oath of office at the Raj Bhavan this morning. Earlier, the Chief Secretary, Babu Jacob, presented Mr. Reddy and read out the President's order of Mr. Reddy's appointment as the Chief Justice of Kerala. The Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy, the Deputy Speaker, Sundaran Nadar, the Finance Minister, Vakkom Purushothaman, the Law Minister, K. M. Mani, the Labour Minister, Babu Divakaran, and High Court judges attended the ceremony. The Advocate General, M. Ratna Singh, the Director General of Prosecution, P.V. Madhavan Nambiar, and high officials were also present. Mr. Reddy replaces N.K. Sodhi, who was transferred as Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court last week. Before becoming Chief Justice of the Madras High Court, Mr. Reddy was a judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court. During his tenure at the Madras High Court, the bar launched protests against him.
