Around the City

Slight fall in temperature

Clear sky has been forecast in the city on Monday. There will be a slight fall in minimum temperature and it will be around 11 degrees Celsius.

On Sunday the city recorded maximum temperature of 30.4 degrees Celsius and minimum temperature of 39 degrees Celsius while humidity was 26 per cent.

No power

There will be no power supply on Monday in the following areas from 10 a.m to 2 p.m: Bhartnagar, Bhavaninagar, Moosapet, Laxmikala & Shashikala theatres, Maheshwar Nagar, Shantinagar, Jubilee Hills Road No. 2, Jubilee Hills Checkpost, Road No. 57 and 58, Sanathnagar, Ashoknagar colony, Kailash Nagar, SRT colony, Venkateshwara Nagar, Nandinagar, and Lambadi basti.

Sloka recitation

The Bhagyanagar Brahman Society will organise a Bhagavad Gita sloka recitation competition on December 19 at Bhagyanagar Brahmana Samaja Bhavanam in New Maruthi Nagar, Kothapet. Deadline extended

The last date for entry into the 13th annual Froebel's Inter School tournaments has been extended to November 26. The tournaments will start on November 29 and over 3000 students from 110 schools are expected to participate. For further details call 23318871.

Blood donation camp by NCC

A blood donation camp of the air squadron wing of the NCC No.2 (A) was held under the aegis of the Red Cross Society of Hyderabad at the Kendriya Vidyalaya, Air Force Station, Begumpet, here on Sunday. The camp was part of the 56th NCC Raising Day celebrations. The collected blood is to be donated free to Thalassemic children, a press release said.

SBI's gesture

The State Bank of India has donated Rs. 3.28 lakhs to Nizamia Hyderabad Women's Association Trust to establish a computer lab at their Princess Esin Women's Education Centre at Purani Haveli. A release said the donation was extended as part of the community welfare services of the bank and to promote IT education among girls and women for self-employment.

Haj camp

The 8th training camp for Haj pilgrims was organised by the State Haj Committee on Sunday at Masjid-e-Sahifa, Azampura. Various rituals connected with Haj were explained by Moulana Syed Azam Ali Soofi, president, All India Jamiyatul Mashaikh. The Haj Committee chairman, Ghouse Mohiuddin, also spoke.
