MYSORE, NOV. 22. Kannada Catholic Christians' Association has threatened an agitation against the use of Tamil in prayers at two churches here. In a press release, W. Philomena Raj and M.C. Francis, general secretary and vice-president, respectively, of the association, have said that the sudden change from Kannada to Tamil at churches in Gayatripuram and Hinkal will cause problems for followers. Kannada Christians are restive following the move. Recalling a similar incident at St. Philomena's Church, they have said the decision to replace Kannada with Tamil led to a crisis which was sorted out by the then Deputy Commissioner, Ajay Sait, and Police Commissioner, Kempaiah. They have said that the guidelines laid down when that dispute was solved have been ignored by the two churches.
