Woman survives suicide bid, children die

BELGAUM,
NOV. 22.
A woman jumped into a well along with her four children at Mugur on Munavalli-Yergatti Road in Murgod Police Station limits on Sunday night.
The police told The Hindu that Dammavva, wife of Maruti Sarpannavar, jumped into the well with her four children — Lakshmawwa (12), Kalmesh (10), Karrewwa (8) and Mahadevi (2).
While the children drowned, she was rescued by the villagers and was in a state of shock, they added.
Family dispute
A family dispute is said to be reason behind the incident.
Senior police officers visited the village today.
A case has been registered.
