PONDICHERRY, NOV. 22. Bus operators in Pondicherry have dropped their plan to keep the buses off the roads tomorrow, after Chief Minister N. Rangasamy assured them that their demands would be met in two weeks. The president of the Association of Pondicherry Bus Owners (Stage Carriages), B. Kannan, said the Chief Minister along with the Transport Minister, A. Elumalai, listened to the delegation urging the Government to raise fares in both the town and inter-State buses operated by them. "We are satisfied with the assurance given by the Chief Minister and hence we have dropped the plan to observe a strike tomorrow," Kannan said.
