NEW DELHI, NOV. 22. The Union Rural Development Minister, Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, today expressed the hope that all political parties would cooperate in tracing the two engineers of the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation kidnapped in Patna. He would shortly call a meeting of the Members of Parliament from Bihar, irrespective of their political affiliations to discuss the issue and added that there was immense resentment among the people over the kidnapping. Reacting to questions from reporters on the raids on the two Lok Janshakti Party MLAs in connection with the kidnapping, Mr. Singh said when there were cases against them, can we call them `Gandhians.' Mr. Singh, who was in Patna for two days, said the State and the Central Governments were working in tandem to secure the safe release of the two engineers who were abducted from Hajipur-Muzaffarpur road. The local police were working on various leads and were hopeful of tracing the engineers in a day or two. The Minister described the kidnapping was a `conspiracy' by some political parties which wanted to stop the fast pace of development that was happening in Bihar by way of rural roads where the NHPC was working.
