BC panel chief assumes office
HYDERABAD,
NOV. 22.
The newly-appointed Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Commission for Backward Classes, Dalavai Subrahmanyam, and his team have promised to strive for social justice and undo any wrongs that may have been committed in the past.
On Monday, Justice Subrahmanyam and his three members -- V. Krishnamohan Rao, N. Laxminarayana Mudiraj and Ambati Subba Rao -- assumed charge. The first memorandum that the Chairman received was from R. Krishnaiah, Andhra Pradesh Backward Classes Welfare Association, seeking more reservations for the Backward Classes.
On the 5 per cent reservation for Muslims, Justice Subrahmanyam said it was top priority for the commission following the High Court's direction.
