Behuria may head IOC
NEW DELHI,
NOV. 4.
Sarthak Behuria is likely to be appointed as Chairman of the Indian Oil Corporation. Mr. Behuria, now Chairman and Managing Director of Bharat Petroleum Corporation, will take over the reins of IOC from M. S. Ramachandran, who retires on super-annuation at the end of February 2005. Mr. Behuria was shortlisted by the Public Enterprise Selection Board (PESB) today.
"The PESB has sent Mr. Behuria's name for the IOC top job to the Government for vigilance clearance,'' official sources said. A management graduate from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, Mr. Behuria had taken over as BPCL boss in July 2002.
