Addressing party activists, the BJP leader condemned "the unjust arrest of the religious leader of millions of Hindus" and called it extremely "unfortunate".

The BJP workers were also addressed by the State unit president, Suresh Bhardwaj, and the former Minister, Jagat Prakash Nadda. Some other MPs and MLAs of the BJP were also present on the occasion. Meanwhile, the bandh call issued by Vishwa Hindu Parishad and supported by the BJP evoked a negligible response here as well as in other parts of the State.
