HYDERABAD, NOV. 22. The Friends International Clubs Organisation (FICO) is organising a two-day Japan Documentary Film Festival on traditions and present-day Japan in collaboration with NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation) International, Tokyo, here from November 27. The main attraction of the film festival, open to all at Indira Priyadarshini Auditorium, Public Gardens, is the screening of films on `Bullet train', the world's fastest bullet train (Shinkansen) that travels at a speed of 300 km per hour and `Sony Legacy' which focus on the technological superiority of Japan. Disclosing this, the FICO founder secretary, G. Upender Reddy, an NRI living and working in Japan as Goodwill Ambassador of Nagoya, and the secretary, Hyderabad chapter, Jaganmohan Rao, told media persons on Monday that the documentaries would showcase Japanese festivals, traditional sports, lifestyle and cultural images. The festival will be inaugurated by the Speaker, K.R. Suresh Reddy.
Festival aim
"The aim of the festival is to introduce Japanese culture and latest technology to people of the State," they said. There would be shows at 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 3.30 p.m. and the same films would be repeated the second day.
