Sony enters notebook PC

NEW DELHI, NOV. 23. Sony India Pvt. Ltd. today introduced its premium range of VAIO notebook PCs for the Indian market. Aimed at the growing notebook PC market, the company promises its unique product go beyond computing to provide the innovative technologies, personal entertainment and style needed to make a notebook a true mobile companion.

The company has launched three globally current models — VGN-T16GP, VGN-B55G and VGN-S26GP — priced between Rs. 80,000 and Rs. 1.05 lakhs. All these models will be manufactured in Japan and imported through Singapore. Sony India has planned to set up exclusive sales and service network in the country to market and promote VAIO notebook PCs.

Stating that it was the right time for Sony to enter the Indian notebook PC market, Sony India's Marketing Division Head, Katsuhiko Murase, said, "The VAIO experience is not limited by time, space or location and its uniqueness stems not only from performance and function, but also from the look and feel. The goal of VAIO is to connect products, not only through innovative technologies, but also through digital content such as images, sounds, music and data.''
