Sehwag crosses 1000 runs in 2004

KANPUR, NOV. 23. During his innings of 164 at the Green Park here on Tuesday, Virender Sehwag became the seventh batsman in 2004 to cross 1000 Test runs in a calendar year.

The line-up: B. Lara (WI) 1178 runs from 12 Tests (21 innings), C. Gayle (WI) 1135 from 12 Tests (22), S. Jayasuriya (SL) 1130 from 11 Tests (20), K. Sangakkara (SL) 1114 from 11 Tests (20), D.R. Martyn (Aus) 1097 from 11 Tests (21), V. Sehwag (India) 1020 from 9 Tests (15), R. Sarwan (WI) 1005 from 12 Tests (21).
