Hyundai Mobile pact with STC
NEW DELHI,
NOV. 23.
Hyundai Mobile, a unit of the South Korean conglomerate, Hyundai Corp, has entered into a strategic partnership with the State Trading Corporation for selling mobile phones in India under which the public sector undertaking will give import funding assistance of Rs. 200 crores for the first year.
The products would be priced between Rs. 3,900 and Rs. 1 lakh and the firm was targeting a base of 10 million users in India over the next five years, Vijay Singh, Vice Chairman and MD, Hyundai India Telecom, said here.
Under the MoU signed between them, HITL would utilise the funding assistance for import operations of hi-end technology mobile handsets
Aravind Pandalai, CMD, STC, said, "We have confidence in the rapidly growing business of mobile handsets and our gain will be in terms of revenue share from the sales.''
The company would introduce 15 models. There would be non-3G models too.
