Letters to the Editor
Sir, This refers to the editorial, "Forex reserves and infrastructure" (Nov. 23). It seems to be an imprudent decision on the part of the Planning Commission and the Union Finance Minister to utilise the available forex reserves to boost infrastructure development. We have stories of bulk resources melting away in no time. Considering the recent example of Brazil, it would be wiser if the proposal is deferred.
A. Ashok Kumar,
Sir, Keeping a huge reserve of forex unused has probably become a burden on the Indian economy. It is the right time for the Government to use the under-used forex for infrastructure projects.
