Pradeep is champion

PONDICHERRY, NOV. 23. P. Pradeep (Petit Club) won the men's title with a 5-11, 11-6, 11-8, 11-8, 11-7 win over S. Ayyappan in the three-day State table tennis championship, which concluded here on Sunday.

N. Rangasamy, Chief Minister, Pondicherry, gave away the prizes.

Men (final): P. Pradeep (Petit Club) bt S. Ayyappan 5-11, 11-6, 11-8, 11-8, 11-7. Semifinals: Ayyappan bt K. Thirumurugan 8-11, 12-10, 2-11, 11-6, 11-2, 12-14, 11-9; Pradeep bt S. Balasubramanian 2-11, 13-11, 9-11, 11-8, 11-7, 11-13, 12-10.
