Plea for formation of Satya Sai district

By Our Staff Reporter

PUTTAPARTHI, NOV. 23. The chairman of the Sri Satya Sai Urban Development Authority (SUDA), Kota Satyanarayana, has urged the Governor, Sushil Kumar Shinde, to use his good offices with the State and Central Governments for formation of Satya Sai district out of southern parts of Anantapur district.

In a memorandum submitted to the Governor during his brief visit to the town on Tuesday, the SUDA chairman noted that it was a long-cherished dream of the people here.

Infrastructure

He stated that Puttaparthi had good infrastructure like an airport, railway station, a deemed university and a super speciality hospital.

He requested the Governor to impress the State Government to sanction a medical college to Puttaparthi, as it would enable the students of the deemed university and the other parts of the district to study medicine. Medical college attached to the currently available super speciality hospital would help improve health services to people of the area, he said.
